MISSION:
The Civil and Human Rights Organisation is an organisation established to champion the cause of the victims of Genocide, mass murder, torture, forced migration, displacement , internment and extreme forms of political, socio-economic, religious, ethnic, tribal and racial persecution. The CHRO seeks to facilitate the processes that will lead to victims of the aforementioned crimes against humanity to seek justice and accountability from competent judicial institutions both within countries and internationally for purposes of bringing redress to their affliction.
In so doing the CHRO also seeks to kick start and where possible complete processes that relete to safe return of displaced communities to their respective homelands, initiate projects and programmes of rehabilitation, moral re-armament, psycho-social therapy and above all help those ravaged communities recover, socially, economically and politically with aview of forestalling any possibilities of the re-occurance of gross abuse of human rights in the amidst.
As a civil and human rights organisation we seek to be at the fore front of all forms of campaigns to reduce the occurance of crimes against humanity in Africa. The CHRO will together with victims of crimes against humanity explore avenues within international legal
systems to bring justice and accountability to bear. In order to faiciliatate the process of achieving this mission the CHRO has developed a three year strategic plan hinged on four goals;
1) Strengthening the capacity of CHRO to execute its mission.
2) To pursue justice and accountability for, with and on behalf of the voiceless victims of crimes against humanity.
3) To develop programmes in partnership or independently to effectively adress the needs of communities emerging from persecution, genocide, forced displacement and internment.
4) To build partnerships with organisations, agencies and individuals for purposes of fulfilling the mission of CHRO. |
